Heirloom Textiles

The art of needlework, embroidery, weaving, lace-making, and quilting were handed down from generation to generation. As both practical home skills as well as skilled artistry, these handmade fabric pieces are prized by curators and collectors.

Audrey Marie Stein, Director Emeritus of the Grace Dee May Museum, began preserving family heirloom quilts and other fabric arts for not only sentimental value but for the tapestry of time and place of their creation.
